Olive-backed Euphonia

He's small enough to easily overlook among the larger tanagers of the Costa Rican lowlands, but the male olive-backed euphonia still sports an impressive color scheme of his own. The bright yellow spot on his forehead is the principal mark that distinguishes him from the all-green female Multiple species of euphonia (from the Greek and Latin for "good sound", referring to their song) live in Costa Rica, where they can be attracted to feeders and native plants.
