Puffins regularly gather nesting material from the grasses surrounding their nesting colonies, adding it to their burrows as the summer progresses and their chicks get bigger. This individual spent took a few minutes after picking a sizable clump of grass standing on the rocks, showing off his choice in nest furnishings. Low winds and calm, blue water made for a classic ocean background.
