Keel-billed Toucan

Boca Tapada

A keel-billed toucan pauses for a moment in the morning sun to check out something or other above him. From the back, these toucans have a subtle red coloration around the nape of the neck. While they aren't the largest toucan in the Costa Rican jungle, they win the "most colors on one bird" award hands down.
