A close-up shot of a northern gannet, from a low angle

Hello There

Percé, Québec

The "worm's eye view" or contre-plongée as it's known in French isn't the most common angle in bird photography, but who says you always have to follow the same rules of composition all the time? On my first morning in Percé, this curious gannet waddled over while I was lying flat and trying to shoot birds with their heads up in the middle of the colony. I snapped a few frames, just to see what it might look like. Is he cross-eyed? Curious? Confused? Annoyed? Trying to reach me about my car's extended warranty? Who knows!
